The Rich Land of Poors

Written by Mukhtiar kapri

The rich land of poors
Great poet of the world Shah Latif once said, “May Allah bless Sindh along with entire world”. No doubt his pray was a sign of Globalization. So there is no any exaggeration to say that it was Sindhi poet/scholar who gave concept of globalization. At last, globalization took place in the map of the world with the objective to unite globe in one platform. The champions of the globalization are advocating that now world is free in trade. And liberal markets are opened for every person. With this race, every country is trying to win race either legal or illegal way. In fact, exploitation is seeming much more in every corner of the world. Weak nation’s resources are under controlled, those who advocate liberal markets, are exploiting these nations. The thing is that there are two types of exploiters, first one is external and second one is internal. In fact, both are very parasite for indigenous people.

In this way, when we see Indus civilization which is one of the richest and filled with natural resources so much so that its desert areas are bestowed with black gold (Coal). The great Indus River irrigates the plain areas of Sindh, which makes Sindh one of the biggest barrage areas of the world. Once Karl Marx said that Shikarpur city of Sindh is a center of trade and commerce in Indian colony of British where labour union could be established in order to enhance communist ideology. Arab traders had long reported that in Sindh ``the rivers are pearls, the mountains are rubies, and the trees are perfume.'' The outside world knew ancient India only by ancient Sindh and the adjoining coastal areas. And it had the strangest notions about the people here. Bheru Mal Mahirchan Advani, prominent writer of Sindhi language, wrote in ( قديم سنڌ ) that famine or any external force can not affect Sindh because nature has bestowed it Indus River and sea. He also uttered that it is a reason that its people are prosperous. There is no doubt that Sindh is still rich.

The matter of the fact is that in spite of richest land its indigenous sons and daughters are living in poverty, they have no any facility. To see their condition, non-sindhi people are laughing at them. Now their own mother land has become strange for them. Their resources are used by non-Sindhi who claim on the property of Karachi and Hyderabad. They are prohibited to take admission in the institutions of Karachi, which is ruled by the terrorist ethnic group. If they protest for their rights, in return, they are killed, but they do not take law in the hand. Still they are waiting for justice, which is their big mistake because cruelty can not take mercy. If they plan to protest for their rights then at the very outset they are told that their remains (dead body) will be sent to home. In fact, they were killed and their dead bodies were sent to their homes.

In this respect, series of queries arise in our mind that the rich land but its sons and daughters are wandering for the breed and butter in the streets of Karachi and Hyderabad. In fact, in the same cities jobs are opened for every non-sindhi, but we have sinned to be sons and daughters of Sindh. When I remembered those days after completing my masters in English, so I left my village in the hope of searching good job in the Karachi. I was wandering door to door but all my efforts ruined. After that, I returned to my village without getting any job and started to work in the field. The thing is that every Sindhi younger is feeling alienation in his/her own mother land.

One big tragedy is with us that our Sindhi politicians and bureaucrats have united with ante force of Sindh. Now they both forces have planned to sell land of Sindh. On the contrary, when Sindhi youngsters go to them for the purpose of job, they are given false reassurance. At last, they become very disappointed. Their talent is exploited, it means they have a lot of wisdom but there none seems to buy their talent in the desolated market. Because there is no doubt that they are wandering in the desolated markets.

The matter of the fact is that there are multi problems such as means of production of Sindh is completely under controlled through centered government. It takes 70% production of Sindh and in return Sindh is provided only 14%. For this reason, Sindh is facing much more economical crisis. Now its people are constrained to sell their children in order to get two times of meal. On the other hand, Sindh is facing burden of migratory/outsiders, so its indigenous peoples are becoming in minority. That is why here is need of consideration on these issues of Sindh..

In fact, we have not any need of NFC award as well as we do not need any royalty from center government. But we demand for our own soil’s production and we also want to do ownership over our resources. So, it should be returned its all means of production.
