Saharo Foundation arranged a successfull Car Wash event for Flood Victims

Friends,

Saharo Foundation aranged a Car Wash in Reston, Virginia for Pakistani Flood Victims. This fund raising event included Bake sell where volunteers baked fresh cup cakes and brownies. This Saharo event was arranged by local community member Mr. Fazal Sirhandi who provided his gas station to hold this event. We received printed signs as a donation from a friend of Fazal. Native of Lahore Shahid Qamar brought his family, his brother's family, and other friends to help us out.

Car wash event turned to be a big success. Saharo Foundation raised $1206.00 just from half day event!!!
Credit goes to Mr. Fazal Sarhindi who came up with this idea and took care of all overhead costs plus he provided free drinks and subway lunch for all volunteers.

This event also helped Saharo Foundation to network, and create awarness among Americans. Several local community leaders brought their cars to include Police officers of Fairfax county, State Department, Red Cross, and others. One officer from U.S State Department who recently got back from Pakistan and was involved with Flood Relief activities praised Saharo efforts, donated $100 cash, and gave us details of Flood damages, thanks to him and his wife. Same way female from Red Cross with years of charity experience assured her support.

Saharo Foundation was touched by the actions of so many Americans who just stopped by and donated without even having us wash their cars. Thanks to all volunteers who made this event possible, and we will have few more fund raising events of different types. We the people can do much than one can imagine.
