Saharo Foundation USA and READ Provided Uncooked Food to 400 Families /1100 People in Flood Relief and Medical Camp at District Jamshoro/Kotri

On 09-10-2010 Saharo Foundation (USA) and READ arranged flood relief and medical camp at district Jamshoro.


District Jamshoro is center of flood victims where large number of camps are located. From LUMHs to University of Sindh on other side from Tool Plaza to Sahhbaz Housing society and from District Jamshoro camp located at Shahbaz Scheme II to Kotri Khuda Ki Basti, all areas are filled with camps of flood victims, where more than Fifteen thousand families are passing miserable time of their life. This time camp of flood victims of Taluka Khairpur Nathan Shah was selected because in this flood catastrophe Khairpur Natahan Shah has suffered a lot and thousands of families have been severely effected .the camp was located at School of Special Studies in Kotri where more than four hundred families are living.

Flood relief Camp and medical camps started at 2.00 PM; the main items for distribution were as follows;

5kg Wheat flour bag

1kg Pulse(Daal Chana)

1kg Cooking oil

Half kg Sugar Packet

250 gram Spices

Salt 800 gram

1kg Onion Bag

Milk pack 250 ml 400 packs

Medicines; antibiotics, metronidazole, antidiahoreal drugs, anti allergic and other medicines : Dr Nazir Abbasi Treated 150 patients .

This camp has been arranged with the coordination of EDO Revenue Matiari Shahid Laghari and MPA Imran Laghari from Khairpur Nathan Shah, District Dadu.

Before food distribution there was a concise ceremony has been arranged where eminent personalities delivered short speeches; Ceremony start with recitation of holly Quran then speeches started main speakers were; Dr Nazir Abbasi (Coordinator District Government /eminent Social Worker of Kahairpur Nathan SAhah), Irfan Jumani Chairman READ, Prof Qamaruddin Mahar (General Secretary READ).Where as more than 900 flood affectees were audiences.

After speeches food distribution started and 400 families were served on the basis of token issues to them prior to distribution.
