Two Volunteers Asif Talpur and Hitesh Michandani organised a wonderful night
full with fun on October 16, 2010. Several American families
gathered in a local restaurant to support this great cause. Event
started with the silence of one minute in memory of those who
lost their lives in recent floods in Pakistan. Majority of participants
were Indian Americans who came out in big numbers to help raise funds.
Attendees enjoyed the performances by Miss India DC 2010 Aasieya
Zara Husain(http://www.aasieya.com/Videos.html); Oprah's selected
Bollywood Dance School"The Dhoonya Dance" (http://www.dhoonyadance.com/);
Zahira Nour (http://www.dcbellydancerzahiranour.com/Home.html);
and several other local singers who did not charge anything for their performances.
Media came out to support this event thanks to Saqib Ul Islam of

of The Capital post (http://www.thecapitalpost.com/)
Local companies and NGOs donated money and joined the Saharo
Foundation to make this event a success. Thanks to "Cry for America"
(http://www.cry.org/index.html) and BIG HAND to REI SYSTEMS INC.
( http://www.reisys.com/). REI's staff actively encouraged every singer
who came on stage. Their cherish brought colors to this event.
It was very generous of you all to take time out of your busy schedule
to attend this event. Americans showed to people of Pakistan that we
all are here to help you in time of need. Saharo Foundation will send
100% donations to Flood Victims. Saharo has open accounts policy,
please feel free to send us an email if you want to see funds collected,
locations of fund distributed, receipts, pictures, videos etc. Saharo has
strong accountability structure which makes sure that your hard earned
money goes in right hands.
