Saharo Qurbani Project for Flood Victims

Friends,

World has recently witnessed the ferocity and devastation caused by floods across much of the Pakistan’s Sindh province. This unprecedented natural disaster have posed serious threat to a common person’s life, and affected millions in southern part of country, livelihoods of tens of thousands have been devastated by this widespread havoc. The displaced people are in substantial need of safe water, medicines, food, baby formula, and shelter. The stagnant water has made the internally displaced persons vulnerable to outbreaks of water borne diseases.

Saharo Foundation has proud history of helping Flood victims in Pakistan, we arranged camps and distributed food when natural disaster hit southern part in September 2007, and then donors were appealed to dig deeper in 2010. Saharo proudly carried out flood relief activities in 2010 by distributing food, medicines, and shelter in thousands of displaced people. Now, same natural disaster has hit harder again.

Let’s join hands while taking pride in helping those victims who are suffering on daily basis. Time is running out; let’s do whatever we all can to help minimize the miseries of those victims. Saharo encourages all readers to take this appeal to your workplaces, circle of friends and spread the word through social media. Saharo has initiated Qurbani Project for November 2011. We are asking all people who are planning to organize a “Qurbani” [sacrifice of animal] during next month as part of religious obligation during the month of Hajj to let us do the work for you. We will buy your choice of animal and will slaughter as per religious norms. We plan to distribute meat among flood victims of Sindh. Several volunteer teams are being formed in order to organize many camps during this three day Hajj event. Please let us know if you will like to participate in this project.

Saharo always appreciates your generosity, and some of our community members have shown incredible kindness. This is our tradition of caring and loving, let’s keep the ball rolling. Please make checks payable to Saharo Foundation and mail it to P.O. Box 6173, Columbia, MD 21045
